Inspired by my friend Soren Iverson, I thought I’d share some brief thoughts on my concept redesigns of famous logos. Maybe I’ll even do some writing on bigger, real, client projects as well. Let me know! :)

Alright. Linktree.
I want to start by saying that I like their current logo. There’s nothing wrong with it. A lot better than my concept! I just enjoy doing my quick takes as a creative exercise.
As usual, I wanted to focus more on the mark itself. MAYBE the current symbol feels a bit… unrecognizable by itself? Probably not, but that’s where my focus was at least.
I give myself not more than like 1 hour to make these (sometimes spread out through multiple days or even weeks) so quick iteration is king here. I quite early fell in love with this almost foldable tree shape and tried to make it into a chain (the link symbol) but it got too literal and awkward.
I then realized that by removing the right part of the tree, you get an L. Was the tree idea still as visible though? Maybe not. But for a real logo, I don’t think that’s important. What matters is a recognizable shape which I think we have here. Then if people get a tree vibe by the ragged shapes - that’s just a bonus.
I hope you liked this super tiny text! Please let me know if this was even remotely interesting and/or what you want to see more of in future newsletters. I’m still very new at this.
Til’ next time! :)
